Staff Wellbeing
A key priority in our Organisational Development (OD) Strategy is a focus on supporting our workforce’s health and wellbeing through five wellbeing pillars; Mental & Emotional, Physical, Social, Financial and Work-Life Balance. Our aim is to build resilience and enhance health and wellbeing through a variety of ways. Whether that’s a visit to the Wellbeing Centre, accessing support via our Peer Support Network or finding support through our Staff Care Officer or Occupational Health, there is support at all levels.
The on-site Wellbeing Centre is a dedicated resource for staff health and wellbeing. It’s a space to relax and recuperate, and access support and resources, all away from the daily working environment. There are many areas within the Wellbeing Centre to take advantage of. Staff are invited to drop by and enjoy a light refreshment from our barista coffee machine as well as a varied selection of teas, coffees, soft drinks and biscuits. Among other things, there are relaxing couches and chairs to chill on, a dedicated quiet area, and massage equipment to help with relaxation and a fun space with table tennis and air hockey. Members of the Staff Care Team are available Monday to Friday to offer advice, support and signposting.
The Healthy Working Lives (HWL) Group also facilitates a calendar of health and wellbeing activity throughout the year. Activities include health promoting events such as suicide awareness and mental health awareness weeks, topical wellbeing webinars such as stress, menopause and men’s health. Staff can also access charity coffee mornings, financial and pre-retirement workshops, mindfulness and relaxation sessions, chair massage and pickleball or badminton lunchtime sessions.
