State Hospital Main Reception Area

A Visitor Application Form (VAF) will have been completed (on your behalf) by the staff member organising your visit. If this has not been completed, you will not be able to enter the Hospital. Please check that this has been done in advance of your visit.

As with patient visitors, all professional visitors access the Hospital via the Visitors’ Reception Area which is located within the main State Hospital Reception building.

On your first visit, please remember to bring photographic identification with you. When this identification has been checked, Reception staff will then take your photograph for your visitor pass. This pass must be displayed on your person at all times, and returned to the Visitors’ Reception Area at the end of your visit.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled visiting time and adhere to security procedures for all visitors.

There are personal lockers for storing items that are not being brought into the Hospital.  All items must be removed following your visit.

Please be aware that CCTV is in operation throughout the Hospital including the car park areas.
